Rigor. (from the lat. rigore) n. 1. harshness; strength; 2.fig., severity; punctuality; accuracy.

There is no "more or less levelled", "more or less upright”, "more or less clean" or "more or less safe", but rather “levelled”, "upright”, "clean” and “safe". The rigour is reflected in our procedures, in time and in the rules to follow. In the light of moral and principles, being severe means being rigorous.

Passion. (from the lat. passione) n. 1. intense and usually violent feeling (affection, joy, hate, etc.) which hinders the exercise of impartial logic; 2. derived from a feeling; 3. great predilection; 4. partiality; 5. great grief; immense suffering...

Under the sign of passion – a text of the Portuguese poet Regina Guimarães – is our icon. Passion is to reveal great enthusiasm for something, favourable encouragement or opposite to something.
It is the sensibility transmitted by an architect or engineer through work.
Passion is the dedication to a project. Passion is a state of warm soul.

Being solidary is being a friend, offering our hand with genuine generosity and bringing joy and human warmth to those who, somehow, are marginalized. Being solidary is being more human. A solidary company is recognized as a fair and non-selfish company. A solidary company is a preferred choice in business. It is a more competitive company. Volunteering is a vehicle to solidarity. It is modern, fair, cultured, friend, it is a noble gesture of moral elevation.

Courage. (from the lat. coraticum) n. 1. bravery facing danger; intrepidity; to have audacity; 2. moral force before a suffering or setback; 3. [fig.] to input energy when performing a difficult task; perseverance...

Courage is essential in our life. Courage to face less pleasant situations when complex issues come up, not expecting random resolutions.
It is a value that we must highlight as opposed to the fearful, cowardly and laziness.
The courage to react to criticism not with an attitude of demotivation or sadness, but rather to search for the means and the action to overcome its own reason. This kind of courage, which is also an intellectual courage, is highly recommended.

Responsibility. (from the lat respondere) n. the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct; a form of trustworthiness.

We must be certain that, before a choice, we chose what is best for both of us and not just the best for each one. Each employee is responsible for his negotiated activity and co-responsible if the co-worker does not fulfil his own task, thus preventing the common goal. A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

dst group builds new International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture

The dst group is responsible for the refurbishment of the Abade Pedrosa Municipal Museum in Santo Tirso, a work undertaken by the City Council and signed by the architect Siza Vieira. At this first stage it includes the construction of a new building to house the headquarters of the International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture. Budgeted at two million Euros, this intervention sets out to construct a new building for the museum and allow access between the existing museum and the new module by way of a common entrance to be carried out at the structure to be built. Based on this architectonic approach, it will be possible to house, in one sole space, the atrium and access to the two museological spaces which, notwithstanding the fact they have different programmes, share common areas.

This intervention, in which the companies cari, bysteel and dte are involved, all from the dst group, includes the implementation of works' contracts involving peripheral containments and metallic structures, electricity, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and woodwork as well as the management of the whole works. The implementation of exclusive furnishing is also foreseen for the space by the architect Siza Vieira. This is a work which will once again bear testimony to the experience of the dst group and, in particular, of cari, in projects related with rehabilitation and architecture.

School Centre at Fafe

In Montelongo in the borough of Fafe, the dst group is responsible for the construction of a new school centre, a work budgeted at more than 2.4 million Euros. The works' contract encompasses the construction of school premises to teach Preschool Education and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education with the capacity to accommodate four activities' rooms for the preschool and sixteen classrooms for basic education. In addition to these premises, the project also envisages the implementation of a new playing field to replace the existing one in an area of land situated to the north of the education centre.

In addition to implementation from scratch of all the equipment envisaged, such as the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of a new indoor playing field, the main innovation of the intervention for which the dst group is responsible is the construction of a landfill using prefabricated, earth supporting material. The completion of the works is set for the first half of 2015.

For José Teixeira, chairman of the dst groups, these two works' contracts “strengthen the positioning of our group in the field of construction in Portugal, the upshot of unique know-how in sectors such as education and rehabilitation”. He also stresses that “it is an added reason for pride for the dst group to be associated with a work which, on the one hand, bears the signature of one of the most prestigious world architects, Álvaro Siza Vieira, and, on the other, allowing a contribution to the construction of a further prime space to experience the literacies of beauty which meets the identity of our company, summarised in the slogan "building culture”.
