The dstgroup has launched a preventive physiotherapy programme, free of charge for all its employees, reinforcing its strategy of promoting physical and emotional health in the workplace.
The new benefit started being implemented this March. Appointments take place on the dstgroup campus in Braga, led by Rui Lemos, a physiotherapist who has access to various treatment facilities, offering the most suitable approach for each employee’s needs.
Ten daily appointments are currently available, each lasting 60 minutes. The remaining part of the day is devoted to occupational physiotherapy.
Taking a preventive approach, the measure aims to reduce the risk of injury, improve employees’ physical condition and promote sustainable health habits through the working day.
“Physiotherapy, because the body, the dance of the body, needs as much balance and wellbeing as the spirit. There is no productivity at work without the body and spirit being at peace,” explained José Teixeira, chairperson of the dstgroup.
The programme is not just limited to appointments and physiotherapy sessions. During March, the dstgroup also extended workplace exercise to all departments and work areas. Although it was already part of the daily routine on construction sites and in factories, the initiative is now also being encouraged in its office areas. To ensure implementation, each team appointed a workplace exercise mentor responsible for leading, on a daily basis, a set of pre-defined exercises demonstrated by a physiotherapist in team-specific sessions.
The group already provides a health centre on its Braga campus, offering free general and curative medicine, aesthetic medicine, dentistry and psychology appointments. It also has a sports campus with tennis, football, padel and basketball courts, as well as gym classes three times a week during the lunch hour, also on campus. In addition, it has partnerships with clinics in various health areas, and gyms, offering exclusive discounts for employees and their immediate family members.
