Rigor. (from the lat. rigore) n. 1. harshness; strength; 2.fig., severity; punctuality; accuracy.

There is no "more or less levelled", "more or less upright”, "more or less clean" or "more or less safe", but rather “levelled”, "upright”, "clean” and “safe". The rigour is reflected in our procedures, in time and in the rules to follow. In the light of moral and principles, being severe means being rigorous.

Passion. (from the lat. passione) n. 1. intense and usually violent feeling (affection, joy, hate, etc.) which hinders the exercise of impartial logic; 2. derived from a feeling; 3. great predilection; 4. partiality; 5. great grief; immense suffering...

Under the sign of passion – a text of the Portuguese poet Regina Guimarães – is our icon. Passion is to reveal great enthusiasm for something, favourable encouragement or opposite to something.
It is the sensibility transmitted by an architect or engineer through work.
Passion is the dedication to a project. Passion is a state of warm soul.

Solidarity. (from the lat. solidare) n. 1. the quality of being solidary; 2. reciprocal responsibility among the members of a group, namely social, professional, etc.; 3. sense of sharing another’s suffering.

Being solidary is being a friend, offering our hand with genuine generosity and bringing joy and human warmth to those who, somehow, are marginalized. Being solidary is being more human. A solidary company is recognized as a fair and non-selfish company. A solidary company is a preferred choice in business. It is a more competitive company. Volunteering is a vehicle to solidarity. It is modern, fair, cultured, friend, it is a noble gesture of moral elevation.

Courage. (from the lat. coraticum) n. 1. bravery facing danger; intrepidity; to have audacity; 2. moral force before a suffering or setback; 3. [fig.] to input energy when performing a difficult task; perseverance...

Courage is essential in our life. Courage to face less pleasant situations when complex issues come up, not expecting random resolutions.
It is a value that we must highlight as opposed to the fearful, cowardly and laziness.
The courage to react to criticism not with an attitude of demotivation or sadness, but rather to search for the means and the action to overcome its own reason. This kind of courage, which is also an intellectual courage, is highly recommended.

Responsibility. (from the lat respondere) n. the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct; a form of trustworthiness.

We must be certain that, before a choice, we chose what is best for both of us and not just the best for each one. Each employee is responsible for his negotiated activity and co-responsible if the co-worker does not fulfil his own task, thus preventing the common goal. A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

Angolan writer Paulo Campos wins the 7th dstangola/Camões Literary Prize

Jornal económico

This edition of the prize, promoted by the dstgroup in partnership with the Camões Institute, was dedicated to poetry by Angolan authors published in 2023 and 2024.

The Angolan writer Paulo Campos has won the 7th edition of the dstangola/Camões Literary Prize with his work “111 Sonetos Novembrinos”(111 November-related Sonnets), which was unanimously selected, the Portuguese business group announced in a statement sent to Lusa.

This edition of the prize, promoted by the dstgroup in partnership with the Camões Institute, was dedicated to poetry by Angolan authors published in 2023 and 2024.

The work 111 Sonetos Novembrinos won the unanimous approval of the jury and is a symbolic tribute to Angola’s Independence Day, 11 November 1975, “combining the formal rigor of the classical sonnet with the country’s historical memory, cultural identity and contemporary experience,” the statement said.

The writer, quoted in the document, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition the prize gives to Angolan literary culture.

“The existence of prizes like this, which value Angolan literary culture, is one of the most timely initiatives for the development of writing as an essential art form. I consider this prize above all to be a recognition of the persistence of poetic creation,” he said.

According to the author, the jury’s choice gives poetry a place of prominence “where the soul can reveal itself without any masks.”

“Winning this competition means that the voices and silences I have placed in each verse have resonated beyond the page. For me, this distinction validates the search for the cornerstone of our cultural identity, proving that poetry is still the safe harbour where the soul reveals itself without any masks,” stated Paulo Campos.

The jury, chaired by José Mena Abrantes and also made up of David Capelenguela and Amélia Dalomba, highlighted “the skill with which Paulo Campos masters the classic rules of the sonnet, along with simple, fluent and accessible language,” also emphasizing the author’s ability to address “with beauty and rigour, ancient stories, African legends and parables, scenes from rural and urban everyday life, as well as existential, romantic and patriotic themes, from the perspective of defending the universal values of Humanity.”

The initiative’s promoter, José Teixeira, CEO of the dstgroup, also emphasized the role of literature “as an instrument of subversion (...) and the resonance of stifled voices,” highlighting the importance of poets in the building of freedom.

“In Angola, literature and poetry have always been particularly important. Today, Angola is free and knows that it cannot do without the critical voice of poets and writers. Freedom is a process. For our part, as a small operator in Angola, we encourage and support poets and writers in their social work,” he stated, in a remark quoted in the press communication.

Paulo Campos is an Angolan doctor, academic and writer. In the area of literature, he is a member of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA). He began his publishing career with short stories, but it was through his return to poetry in 2024 that he achieved one of the high points of his literary career with 111 Sonetos Novembrinos, published by the UEA.

The prize, worth 15 000 euros (around 16 million kwanzas), will be presented to the winner in May, at a venue yet to be announced.

Across the seven editions held so far, the dstangola/Camões Literature Prize has been awarded to Zetho Cunha Gonçalves (2019), Pepetela (2020), Benjamim M’Bakassy (2021), Boaventura Cardoso (2022), João Melo (2023), Jorge Arrimar (2024) and Paulo Campos (2025).

Created in 2019, the dstangola/Camões Literature Prize is part of a coordinated cultural promotion project developed by the dstgroup in partnership with the Camões Institute, going far beyond the annual award itself, the statement added.

As part of this commitment, the dstangola Reading Room was created at the Portuguese Cultural Centre in Luanda, which has already received thousands of books donated by the group. Its collection includes works by Angolan, Portuguese and Lusophone authors, as well as technical and scientific literature, promoting access to reading, knowledge and cultural diversity, it added.
