A team is a set of individuals - is a whole. In the business game, as in social or family contexts, everyone must comply with their own relative position and we shall not permit that one of ours fails to be in our team.

Poetic Consultations (Consultas Poéticas). “The initiative reflects the dstgroup’s vision of supporting culture as a living field of social intervention, where art does not only represent the world but actively participates in its transformation.” Tomorrow, on World Theatre Day, the dstgroup will take the second edition of Poetic Consultations to the Guimarães Prison Establishment, an initiative “that transforms art into an intimate gesture of listening, dignity and hope,” the group announced yesterday.
“After a first edition that left a strong impression, this initiative is returning to a particularly challenging context, where art plays an essential role as a tool for expression, reflection and humanisation,” the group said in a press release, adding that “in total, around 75 inmates took part in this experience, in a moment that was notable for its strong participation and the impact it had on those involved.”
“We must never tire of poetry as a tool for spiritual recovery and as the key that opens the door to hope so that life can improve. Poetry fulfils this function of intimate homeostasis and challenges each person to cross the threshold into the good life,” highlighted José Teixeira, chairperson of the dstgroup, who is quoted in the same statement.
Developed in partnership with the Paisagem Periférica Association, the project “offers one-to-one encounters between artists and inmates, where each story is welcomed without judgement and each silence is given space to be expressed, creating a rare environment of genuine listening and sharing.”
This year’s edition takes place between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will feature five artists from different arts, ranging from theatre to music and dance, who will lead sessions throughout the day in a deeply personalised approach.
“One year after the first intervention, Poetic Consultations returns to the Guimarães Prison Establishment. This return reaffirms the importance of presence and listening as essential elements of theatre. In each consultation, words become a space for sharing and listening, where the poetic experience emerges in the encounter,” stated Manuela Ferreira, artistic director of the initiative and president of the Paisagem Periférica Association.
Augusto Urjais, head of the Guimarães Prison Establishment, also highlighted the impact of the initiative: “Last year’s experience left invisible but profound marks: voices that opened up, hope that began to breathe again. Above all, it left memories, good memories and beautiful experiences. Because art recognises no walls.
And no one is excluded from its creation.”
